About GrooveStar Studio

Renee

When I have a camera in my hand I am in my happy place. Photography is an art, and a means of creative expression. Photography is also technically complex with ever changing variables of light, movement, and a variety of dynamics that make it uniquely challenging. Creating an image while keeping all these factors in mind is an endeavor that I find especially satisfying.

Some areas of photography I specialize in:

Real estate photography: I work with many real estate agents in the North of Boston (North Shore) area. I photograph each listing with a careful attention to detail. I use a wide-angle lens and lighting to show each space and the flow of the home in the best way possible. Relators often say there must be some magic involved in my photography because although I specialize in photographing high end real estate, I often make less desirable properties look better in photos than they do in real life.

Architectural photography: Many people wonder what the difference is between architectural and real estate photography. Quite simply put, architectural photograph is all about showing a meticulously perfect looking space. The attention to detail is even more precise and the images are edited after the photo shoot with a very high attention to all details.

Rodeo photography: I am an official PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Photographer). This is more that just a title. It is the culmination of 20 years of hard work and a strict PRCA approval process. I am honored that the PRCA considers me to be one of the best, and has entrusted me to photograph and represent the sport of rodeo through my photography. I cover rodeos in the Frist Frontier Circuit on the east coast, and also travel to rodeos around the country. One of my favorite rodeos to photograph is Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming.

Sports photography: I have covered lots of sports ranging from youth soccer, figure skating, college and semi-pro hockey, figure skating, motocross, cheerleading, and polo. In fact, I regularly photograph polo at Myopia Hunt Club in Hamilton, MA. Myopia is the oldest active polo club in America.

Portrait photography: I love photographing families and children. I have a knack for capturing special moments… a quick smiling glance between siblings, a warm embrace between parent and child, or a silly unplanned moment that actually captures a person’s personality. Outdoor portraits are my specialty and my fall and holiday family portrait sessions are very popular.

Concert photography: I am a true music lover and really enjoy capturing the energy and excitement of live performance. I have photographed lots of famous bands such as Aerosmith, KISS, Florida Georgia Line, Brad Paisley and more, and I also frequently photograph local bands and youth musicians.

Product photography: I photograph table top sized items in my studio, carefully crafting the light to show your product in the most flattering way. Most clients request a clean white background so that the focus is on their product. Other backgrounds are also available.

My goal is to deliver images that not only meet your needs, but also exceed your expectations. Every photograph I make is carefully thought out on location, and fully edited in my studio after the photo shoot to insure the proper balance of light, color and shadows. I have impeccable attention to detail and a "designer's eye" for composition.

Samples of my work can be found in the galleries on this website.
